Before designing the checklists, we documented what gender inequality actually looks like at work. This synthesis report brings together 25 real-world cases across sectors as diverse as healthcare, public administration, tech, sport, hospitality, and academia.
The cases reveal six recurring patterns: pay inequality, pregnancy and motherhood discrimination, barriers to promotion, harassment and abuse of power, everyday stereotyping, and LGBTQ+ and trans inclusion gaps. Read together, they show that workplace inequality is rarely a single policy failure: it grows from non-transparent systems, weak reporting, and cultural norms that go unchallenged. The report is both the foundation for our checklists and a standalone resource for employers, HR professionals, and adult educators.
